It looks like someone has put clear power steering fluid in it, whereas it calls for dexron ii/iii atf Anybody ever see the cooler leak internally into the cooling system Does anyone think that the clear ps fluid may be causing/contributing to the leak.

Leak sealers swell seals frank

Find a sealer that will work with your power steering Just take the fluid out of your reservoir and put it in a clean pot Tip your sealer into the reservoir up to the cold mark Keep your reservoir topped up

If the sealer doesn't work after say 200 miles, go se your master mech. Lines going to the steering box on top of the trans Not a ton, but enough to bother me I tried to tighten the lines and i also put some lucas additive in it

What is involved in taking one of these apart

Or is it not even worth it Oh, i almost forgot to say what tractor it is, it is a 861 So i had a one year old power steering valve return to pump hose blow and i replaced it I then found the control valve to be leaking

Got a rebuild kit and it actually works (rar!) i went ahead and replaced all the hoses even though i did that a year ago Then it looked like i had a small. Brakes, steering & suspensioni have a p/s leak from the high pressure hose, at the junction of the rubber and metal line

I've been searching for threads on fixing it and seen people reporting leaks from many different locations

Check the connections at the pump, the rack, and the place where mine is leaking The most common ps leak on toyotas is the high pressure line, though it's usually a much slower leak The high pressure line runs all the way from the reservoir (large banjo bolt) to the rack on the drivers side. I've got a little p/s leak and am not 100% sure if it's leaking from where i think it is

It looks like it's coming from the return line on the gear box There is some play in the tubing that goes through the connector Last saturday i emptied my p/s reservoir in 17 miles :eek No sign of outward leak

Did get some milky water discharge from the exhaust
